Amber in the spotlight

The “Extraordinary Collection” was created to highlight one ingredient per fragrance. This collection is dedicated to materials and the exceptional quality of ingredients. After gardenia, iris, vanilla, Cologne, Van Cleef & Arpels presents “Ambre Impérial”. Amber is an ingredient of animal origin. Amber was the subject of an important trade during antiquity. Worn as a piece of jewelry, amber has been given magical powers.

In particular, it has been associated with eternal youth… In perfumery, amber is part of the Oriental family, from which it derives its opulence. The Chinese already called amber imperial. Quentin Bisch, the perfumer who produced this composition, affirms about this fragrance “I imagined Ambre Impériale, as the perfect association of different symbolic essences of the Orient, the mythical and historical cradle of perfumes… I chose with care the precious ingredients that evoke for me the quintessence of a real amber, a mixture of both sweet and spicy sensations ”.

The sensual notes of Imperial Amber

On the road to the Orient, “Ambre Impérial” takes us on an ultra sensual road. “Ambre Impérial” begins with the fresh notes of bergamot. These are joined by the spicy notes of rose berries. Very quickly, the heart reveals its accord rich in ultra sensual amber associated with vanilla, tonka bean and benzoin. The base of “Ambre Impérial” is woody and enhances the amber accord. The bottle uses the codes of its elders, those of the “Extraordinary Collection”.

Sober and elegant, it is rectangular in shape and imposes its glass in an affirmative way. The nectar here is tinted with lacquered black. The hood made by the Jackel house is actually a zamak. That is, it is a mixture of aluminum, zinc alloy, magnesium and copper. A silver hoop surrounds the neck attached with a cord.

Van Cleef & Arpels presents here another of the wonders, taken from their “Extraordinary Collection”. With “Ambre Impérial”, it is amber that is honored and sublimated. A noble ingredient, an ingredient steeped in history, amber is astonishing, mysterious, but so captivating… An ultra chic essence.
